PGA TOUR | Sony Open in Hawaii

Grayson Murray  returned to the PGA TOUR winner’s circle Sunday in Honolulu, rolling his  Pro V1 golf ball  in for two clutch birdies on Waialae’s 18th hole. On the 72nd hole, Murray pitched his Pro V1 to less than 3 feet for a tap-in birdie to earn his way into the three-man playoff. He was the only player to make birdie on the first extra hole, as his Pro V1 found the bottom of the cup from 38 ft, 7 inches.

It was a bogey-free weekend for Murray, who finished at 17 under after rounds of 69-63-64-67, making just one bogey over his final 67 holes.

For the week, he finished 2nd in Greens in Regulation (58/73, 79%) and T5 in Scrambling, getting his Pro V1 up-and-down 12 of 15 attempts (80%). He was a perfect 12-for-12 for the week in Sand Saves (1st) and gained nearly four strokes on the field on approach shots (+1.875) and around the green (+1.992).

GRAYSON MURRAY + 2023 PRO V1: INSTANT RESULTS

Grayson Murray won in his very first start with the  2023 Pro V1 golf ball  last May, having made the mid-season switch from a competitive golf ball at the Korn Ferry Tour’s AdventHealth Championship. That week, after testing 2023 Pro V1 during the practice rounds, Murray put the new ball in play and posted rounds of 68-69-64-68 en route to his first professional victory since 2017. Four months later, Murray won the Simmons Bank Open by three shots with his Pro V1 to lock up his 2024 PGA TOUR card. His win at the Sony Open comes in Murray’s first start in 2024 and marks his third professional win since making the move to Titleist.
