FAIRHAVEN, Mass. (Sept. 16, 2025) – Titleist’s Pro V1 Left Dot golf ball, a lower-flying, lower-spinning Pro V1 model used to win over 30 PGA TOUR titles including two major championships, will be available to golfers in a limited run beginning Sept. 23.
Designated by •Pro V1 on its sidestamp, Pro V1 Left Dot’s origins trace back to its initial launch on the PGA TOUR as a Custom Performance Option (CPO). Designed to finely tune specific flight, spin and feel characteristics, Titleist CPO models play an important role in the discovery of new technological advancements that are frequently incorporated into next generation Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls. CPOs also provide key learnings in the continued development of more robust offerings for all golfers and their unique launch conditions.
The development of Pro V1 Left Dot resulted from a trend of tour players who preferred the soft feel of Pro V1 but were looking for a lower ball flight and less spin in the long game.
Since its introduction, Left Dot has had a consistent presence on the PGA TOUR and across global tours with those players whose launch conditions demand Left Dot's more unique performance profile.
Pro V1 Left Dot will be available through Titleist.com and select online retailers (U.S. and Canada only) beginning Tuesday, Sept. 23.
CPO models play an integral role in the continued advancement of Pro V1 and Pro V1x technology and performance, driving new innovations that are tested and validated by golfers at the highest level of the game.
In the case of Pro V1 Left Dot, the breakthrough was found in its high gradient core construction. This allowed Titleist R&D to steepen the “spin slope,” dramatically lowering full-swing spin while retaining short-game spin and control.
Learnings from Left Dot’s construction paid dividends for all golfers in 2023, with both new Pro V1 and Pro V1x models featuring high gradient core technology for the first time. Current generation (2025) Pro V1 and Pro V1x have maintained a high gradient design, further validating the performance advantages first unlocked in Pro V1 Left Dot.
CPO products like Pro V1 Left Dot also help Titleist explore new flight, spin and feel offerings for all dedicated golfers. Every year, Titleist conducts thousands of golf ball fittings across the country, which provide the R&D team with countless data points to identify trends and emerging performance needs across a wide range of players. Since the start of 2025, 3% of tour-level fittings have concluded with a Pro V1 Left Dot recommendation, highlighting a considerable subset of golfers that may benefit from Left Dot’s combination of lower flight, lower spin and soft feel.
Since its development, Pro V1 Left Dot has earned validation from some of the world’s best players in some of the game’s biggest moments, including at the 2016 Open Championship and 2018 Masters, where both champions brought Pro V1 Left Dot to the major championship winner’s circle. In total, the model has been used to win over 30 PGA TOUR titles.
Among those contributing to that total is Tony Finau, who has won five times on the PGA TOUR with Left Dot since 2021.
“I’ve always put a lot of spin on the golf ball,” said Finau. “Right away, [Pro V1 Left Dot] caught my eye because of the ball flight. I think if you can control your ball flight, you can control the distance. And it's been such a reliable ball flight for me from the first time that I hit it… I can count on the golf ball in crosswinds, into the wind, downwind. I know how far the golf ball is going to go.”
Other players to win with Pro V1 Left Dot on the PGA TOUR in recent years include Tom Hoge (2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am), Justin Rose (2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am) and Jake Knapp (2024 Mexico Open).
“[Pro V1 Left Dot] fits my game the best because I feel like I can hit it high if I need to, I can flight it down if I need to,” said Knapp, who trusted his Left Dot golf ball to an opening-round 59 at PGA National earlier this season. “If I want to max out an iron shot, I don't feel like it balloons into the air. And then if I want to a 6-iron or an 8-iron and flight it down, it reacts just the way I need it to.”
Pro V1 Left Dot accounts for roughly 6% of Titleist golf ball usage on the PGA TOUR so far in 2025, giving a select group of competitors their optimal combination of flight, spin and feel.
In total, Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x model golf balls make up 72% of all golf balls played this PGA TOUR season, more than seven times the nearest competitor (10%).
Pro V1 Left Dot golf balls are designed for players seeking a lower, more penetrating trajectory with lower long-game spin than Pro V1 but with comparable greenside control and soft feel.
Pro V1 Left Dot will be available through Titleist.com and select online retailers (U.S. and Canada only) on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
