Outpacing the field with exceptional ball-striking and control, the OWGR No. 1 trusted his Pro V1 golf ball and set of three Vokey wedges to PGA TOUR victory No. 6 of 2025.

His Pro V1 and a full set of Vokeys have now been in the bag for all 19 of his victories on the PGA TOUR, as well as the 2024 Olympics title.

On Sunday in Napa, the champion began the final round two shots back of the lead. His closing 5-under 67 showcased elite control over his golf ball, as he hit 17 of 18 greens in regulation and gained over four shots on the field from tee to green (+4.144) while reaching 19 under to complete the comeback, one-shot victory.

Over four rounds at Silverado Resort’s North Course, the reigning Champion Golfer of Year led the field in Strokes Gained: Approach (+8.797) and hit 81% GIR (58/72, T5) on his way to 26 birdies (T1).

KORN FERRY TOUR | Simmons Bank Open

In his first week playing a 2025 Pro V1 golf ball, Zach Bauchou opened with a bogey-free 5-under 65 and followed with three consecutive rounds of 64 to claim his first Korn Ferry Tour title – and secure his 2026 PGA TOUR card.

While the KFT schedule was on break for the last three weeks, Bauchou took some time at home to test the 2025 Pro V1 against his prior generation model. In the days leading up to this week’s Simmons Bank Open, he asked Titleist reps to put 2025 Pro V1’s in his locker.

The 2025 Pro V1 features a faster high gradient core, reformulated to maintain low long game spin, increase ball speed and add spin on shots into and around the greens. Teeing up the ball in competition for the first time on Thursday, Bauchou hit 15 of 18 GIR (83%) and was a perfect 3-for-3 in Scrambling, while making five of the 25 birdies he totaled over the 72 holes in Nashville.

Bauchou’s rounds of 65-64-64-64 put him at 23 under for the week, while leading a 1-2-3-4-5-6 finish for Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x players. In total, 101 competitors (74%) teed up a Titleist, more than six times the nearest competitor with 16 (12%).

AFTER TRYING FRIEND’S GT3 DRIVER, KFT CHAMPION MAKES WINNING SWITCH

After trying his friend’s Titleist GT driver during a recent round at home, the winner of the Korn Ferry Tour’s Simmons Bank Open switched to a GT3 10.0 this week in Nashville before claiming his first KFT title and securing his PGA TOUR card for the 2026 season.

Over the three-week break leading into this week’s first event of the KFT Finals, the winner played a round with fellow KFT’er and Oklahoma State alum Rayhan Thomas, who games a Titleist GT3 10.0 driver.

During the round, the Simmons Bank Open champion, who had played a competitor’s driver model for his past 52 starts on the KFT (since 2023), asked to try Thomas’ GT3. After the round, he made a call to order his own GT3 10.0.

And when he stepped to the first tee Thursday in Nashville, the GT3 was in his bag.

Seventy-one holes later, he found himself on the 18th tee Sunday at Vanderbilt Legends Club with a two-shot lead. He pulled his GT3 driver and sent a rocket down the left side of the fairway to set up a tournament-clinching two-putt par.

The champ, who made the move to a 2025 Pro V1 along with his driver this week, also plays three Vokey Design SM10 wedges and a Scotty Cameron Newport 2 putter
