Playing the 71st hole tied for the lead, Miranda Wang stuck her Pro V1x in close with her approach shot before calmly rolling in the go-ahead birdie putt. One hole later, the LPGA rookie became a winner on tour, beating out a strong field at TPC Boston with a 20-under total.

Wang was dialed in from the jump this week, as she carded a second-nine (TPC Boston’s front nine) 29 on Thursday that included eight birdies.

“Honestly, on the back nine of my first round I started hitting really good shots,” she said on the 18th green after her win. "The shots and putts were going so well for me, I [felt] like this could be my week.”

The 26-year-old followed her strong start with a second-round 67 and third-round 65. She remained steady on Sunday, hitting 11 of 14 fairways and 14 of 18 greens in regulation en route to a 2-under 70.

Wang was one of 104 players this week at TPC Boston to tee up the #1 ball in golf, a total that accounted for 72% of the field and was more than six times the nearest competitor (15).

LPGA CHAMP WINS IN FIRST WEEK WITH SCOTTY CAMERON PHANTOM 5

After playing her first 15 career LPGA events with competitive putter models, the winner of the LPGA’s FM Championship switched to a Scotty Cameron Phantom 5 mallet this week at TPC Boston, less than 48 hours after testing the putter for the first time.

The Phantom 5 – which she used to average 1.6 putts per GIR while rolling in 27 birdies on her way to a one-shot victory over the LPGA’s top-ranked player – first caught the LPGA rookie’s eye on Tuesday on TPC Boston’s putting green.

She took it out for a practice round that afternoon, finding confidence in the Phantom 5’s compact, wing-back shape and the way the sole sat on the ground.

On Wednesday, she brought it to the Titleist Tour Van to dial in the length at 33.5 inches, allowing her to grip down an extra half-inch for a more counterbalanced feel.

On Thursday, she officially made the switch from her competitive model, playing her back-nine in 29 while leading the field in Putts per GIR (1.43). It was the same story for the rest of the week, outpacing the field on the greens with 1.5 (Friday), 1.51 (Saturday) and 1.6 (Sunday) Putts per GIR.

Her 26.8 Putts per Round this week at TPC Boston was over three putts better than her previous five starts on the LPGA (30.1).

FM CHAMPIONSHIP WINNER MAKES SWITCH TO GT HYBRIDS

The LPGA’s newest champion also made a change toward the top end of her equipment set up, replacing her two competitive hybrids with Titleist GT models this week at TPC Boston.

In moving to both GT2 (18.0) and GT3 (21.0) heads, she was able to achieve better gapping between both hybrids and from her 21-degree to 5-iron, while dialing in the feel she wanted out of each club:

DP WORLD TOUR | Omega European Masters

Thriston Lawrence (Pro V1) closed in 66 to claim his 5th DP World Tour victory – and second Omega European Masters title. The South African’s Sunday was highlighted by a mid-round surge that included five birdies and an eagle from Nos. 6-14. Four pars to finish out saw Lawrence reach 22 under and win by two.

For the week in Switzerland, Lawrence ranked 8th in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green (+8.6), which help set him up for 24 birdies (T3). He also got his Pro V1 up-and-down for par 13 of 17 attempts (T5, 76%).

Eight of the last 10 winners on the DP World Tour have played a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, as did 113 players (72%) this week at Crans-sur-Sierre GC, totaling more than seven times the nearest competitor (15).

PGA TOUR AMERICAS | CRMC Championship

Titleist Brand Ambassador Michael Brennan prevailed in a playoff to win his second PGA TOUR Americas title in his last three starts. The 23-year-old shot a closing round 8-under 63 to set the clubhouse lead at 26 under before making a winning par on the first extra hole.

Brennan was dialed off the tee and with his approach play this week, ranking T9 in Driving Accuracy (77%) and T2 in GIR (89%). His ball-striking helped set up 28 birdies and two eagles over four rounds in Minnesota.

With three events remaining on the schedule, Brennan is firmly in control of the top spot on the Fortinet Cup standings, having recorded five top-5 finishes and nine top-10 finishes in 2025. The top 10 finishers by season’s end earn full status on the Korn Ferry Tour for 2026. Last year’s top finisher in the Fortinet Cup, Titleist Brand Ambassador Johnny Keefer, has already locked up PGA TOUR status for next season through his play this year on the Korn Ferry Tour.
