Tied for the lead on the tee at Oakmont’s 314-yard par-4 17th, the winner of the 2025 U.S. Open called on his GT3 9.0 driver to hit one of the most clutch drives in major championship history, his tee shot stopping just inside 18 feet from the hole to set up the go-ahead birdie with one hole to play. The champion pulled driver again on the 18th tee, striping it 308 yards down the middle of the fairway and putting himself in prime position to close out the tournament.
The newest major winner was dialed throughout the week with his driver, gaining +2.35 strokes off the tee (26th). He also ranked T19 in driving accuracy, hitting 35 of 56 fairways (63%) on the demanding U.S. Open setup.
The champion was one of 58 players (37%) who played a Titleist driver this week at Oakmont, 12 more than the total of the nearest competitor. Also among that group was Titleist Brand Ambassadors Robert MacIntyre, who finished runner-up with his TSR2 9.0 driver; and Cameron Young, who finished T4 with his GT2 9.0 driver.
The 2025 U.S. Open champion has trusted his current setup – GT3 9.0, B•1 SureFit Hosel, Fujikura Ventus Black Velocore+ 6 X – since early March, and he was gaming the exact same driver setup when he finished runner-up at this year’s PLAYERS Championship.
The winner first moved into a GT driver from a competitive model last summer at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. The event was his first start since the models launched on TOUR at the Memorial a few weeks prior, and he originally put a GT2 driver straight in the bag, having loved the ball speed increase from his previous gamer. A few starts later, at the 3M Open, he worked with Titleist Tour Rep Larry Silveira to dial in his spin rates, which led him to the slightly lower-spinning GT3. He has not moved out of GT3 since.
Prior to making the move to GT, he had been ranked 146th in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee for the season (-.285 through the 2024 RBC Canadian Open). After using GT for the remainder of the season, his driving stats had already begun to improve, as he finished 2024 ranked 111th in SG: OTT (-0.016). This season, he currently ranks 51st on TOUR, gaining an average of +.232 strokes on the field and showing an improvement of 95 spots from his position before the switch. He also currently ranks 23rd in Total Driving.
The winner of the 2025 Latin America Amateur Championship earned low amateur honors at Oakmont after carding rounds of 73-73-73-76. Gaming his NEW 2025 Pro V1x golf ball, GT2 driver, blended set of T-Series irons, Vokey SM10 wedges and Scotty Cameron Phantom putter, the 21-year-old was the only amateur out of 15 competing this week to make the cut.

With clutch birdies on the 71st and 72nd holes of the tournament, Carlota Ciganda (Pro V1x) claimed a one-shot victory in Michigan. Ciganda’s finish put the final touches on a 5-under 67 – her fourth sub-70 round of the week (69-67-69-67) – which saw her reach 16 under, one shot clear of Hye-Jin Choi (NEW 2025 Pro V1). The win marked Ciganda’s third career LPGA victory to pair with eight LET titles.
Ciganda was in control of her golf ball all week long, hitting 79% greens in regulation (57/72) and converting 23 birdies.
Shaun Norris (Pro V1x) made four birdies in his final five holes – including two playoff birdies – to claim his eighth career JGTO title. Norris, who started Sunday four shots back, carded a Sunday 66 to post 18 under, matching the total of fellow Pro V1x player Yusuke Sakamoto. A pair of birdies on the par-5 18th following regulation clinched the victory for the 43-year-old South African, his second title on the JGTO in eight months.
Norris' win also marked the sixth victory in eight events this season on the JGTO for Titleist golf ball players.
Sayaka Takahashi (NEW 2025 Pro V1x) shot a steady closing 2-under 70 on Sunday to post 16 under and win by one shot. The win marked her second career JLPGA title.
This week’s winner on the JLGPA brought three Vokey Design SM10 wedges (50.08F, 54.10S, 58.08M) to the winner’s circle.
Darcey Harry trusted her Pro V1 golf ball to three consecutive rounds of 68 to close out her week at 13 under, three shots clear of second place. The win marked the 22-year-old rookie’s first career LET title.
Gaming his NEW 2025 Pro V1 golf ball, the winner of the Sunnehanna Amateur shot four rounds of 67 or lower – 66-67-64-64 – to post 19 under and win by four shots. He made 23 birdies and an eagle over the course of the week.
The champion was one of 82 players out of the 101-player field (81%) who teed up a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball for the week.
