Playing his Pro V1 golf ball and set of Vokey Design wedges, the world’s top-ranked player posted 31 under par to win the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, making a field-best 29 birdies along with three eagles on his way to a runaway eight-shot victory.
The champion – who has used a Pro V1 golf ball and three Vokey wedges to win each of his 14 PGA TOUR titles and two Masters victories – followed bogey-free opening rounds of 61-63 with a 66-63 weekend to tie the PGA TOUR’s low-72 hole score (253). He’s matched only by fellow Titleist golf ball players Ludvig Åberg (2023 RSM Classic) and Justin Thomas (2017 Sony Open in Hawaii).
In complete control of his Pro V1, the World No. 1 gained nearly 17 strokes tee to green (+16.972) with nearly 13 of them (+12.811) coming on approach shots. He also led the field in Proximity with an average of 28 feet, 1 inch.
The champ and three of the top four finishers gamed a Titleist golf ball, with Sam Stevens (3rd) teeing up a Pro V1 and Jordan Spieth (4th), who shot a Sunday’s-best 62, playing Pro V1x.
In total, 116 players (74 percent) teed up a Pro V1 or Pro V1x this week at TPC Craig Ranch, more than nine times the nearest competitor (12).
The World No. 1 put a new Vokey Design SM10 60.06K wedge in play this week at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, returning to the lob wedge grind he used to win the 2022 Masters Tournament. The Low Bounce K lobber was complemented by his SM8 50.12F gap wedge and 56.14F sand wedge, which have been mainstays in the winner’s short game setup for years.
He moved from the K Grind to a T Grind in late 2022, using the T to win nine times including his second Masters title in 2024.
This season, the winner ranks first on the PGA TOUR in Scrambling, getting up-and-down for par at a 72 percent clip.
The PGA Professional Championship ended on Wednesday with 20 PGA pros punching their ticket to Quail Hollow for the 2025 PGA Championship.

Gaming his NEW 2025 Pro V1x golf ball, Doyeob Mun turned in a flawless 8-under 63 on Sunday to stage a come-from-behind victory and return to the winner’s circle. Mun began the day at 2 under, six shots off the pace, but his 10-under total at day’s end was good for a three-shot margin of victory.
“The last three holes at Namseoul Country Club are particularly tricky,” said Mun, who made his seventh and eighth birdies of the day on Nos. 16 and 18, respectively. “I focused on playing steady and making par rather than being aggressive. I wasn’t aiming for birdies, just putting the ball in the right position.”
They were among the 98 players (68%) playing the #1 ball in golf this week, more than four times the nearest competitor (22, 15%).
The winner of The 44th GS Caltex Maekyung Open Golf Championship gamed three Vokey Design SM10 wedges: 46.10F, 52.08F, WedgeWorks 58L. He also had a TSR3 19.0 hybrid in the bag.

Yosuke Asaji (NEW 2025 Pro V1) earned his fourth career JGTO title, closing with a steady 1-under 69 to win by one shot. The 31-year-old Asaji, who was also gaming a GT3 9.0 driver (Fujikura Ventus Black 5 X), entered Sunday with a share of the lead after carding the low round of the week by two shots – an 8-under 62 – on Saturday.
Stewart Cink (NEW 2025 Pro V1) made birdie on the first playoff hole to win his second PGA TOUR Champions title. Cink shot rounds of 71-66-68 around The Woodlands CC to reach 11 under. Including the playoff hole, he hit 44 of 55 greens in regulation (80%, 5th).
