From Hilton Head to Shanghai to Punta Cana to Los Angeles — Titleist golf ball players combined for seven victories this weekend across the worldwide professional tours:
So far in 2025, Titleist golf balls have been trusted over 7,000 times across the worldwide professional tours, accounting for 75 percent of all golf balls played — more than eight times the nearest competitor’s total (846/9%).
Titleist Brand Ambassador Justin Thomas followed a course record-tying 61 Thursday with a decisive playoff victory Sunday at Harbour Town, rolling his Pro V1x golf ball in from just over 21 feet for birdie on the first extra hole to claim his 16th PGA TOUR victory.
Gaming a Titleist setup that includes his GT2 driver, T-Series long irons, 621.JT prototype blades and Scotty Cameron Phantom 5 putter, JT made a field-best 23 birdies, 11 of them coming during his 10-under opening round. He added three more during his bogey-free Sunday 68 – plus a final birdie on the first extra hole.
For the week, Thomas gained nearly four strokes on approach shots (+3.847/5th) into Harbour Town’s small targets. On those greens, he gained over five shots on the field (+5.512/3rd) with his trusty Scotty Cameron Phantom 5 mallet.

Longtime Pro V1x player Justin Thomas topped a leaderboard that featured Titleist golf ball players in nine of the final top 12 positions – while 49 competitors in the 72-player field teed up a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, more than six times the nearest competitor (8).
Titleist golf ball players also won both events this week on the PGA TOUR, with Garrick Higgo (Pro V1) capturing his second career victory at the Corales Puntacana Championship.
- “The Pro V1x, it fits my game for a lot of reasons, but I mean my first test is always around the greens chipping. I like the sound and I like the feel of it chipping.”
- “Feel is everything. If I don't like the feel of a golf ball, I will not use it hands down. The first thing I do is I'll hit chips and putts with it and if I don't like the feel and the sound when I'm chipping with it, it won't even get to the range to my irons. It's the first thing I do. So feel is everything with me.”
- “I feel like if I strike the ball how I want to or how I intend to, then the ball reacts that way. I feel like I can control the trajectory. I feel like I can hit it high, hit it low, and the spins kind of match up with that. The ball doesn't do something that I don't expect it to. If I do everything I want – I want it to apex maybe a certain height, whatever it may be – I feel like the golf ball is exactly able for me to do that.”
- "Every single week, every place we play, it's different grass, it's different conditions, different temperature. So I mean all of that factors in. When I'm playing East Lake, it's hot. The ball goes a little further. I'm playing Zoysia grass and the ball generally goes a little further off Zoysia grass. If I compress it a little bit more, I can maybe get 3, 4, 5 yards more out of it. So a 9-iron that I normally hit a 158, 160 yards stock, I can get 170 yards almost out of it if I want to. Versus, I go to the Scottish Open where maybe it's 48 degrees and the ball's sitting pretty tight, I may only be able to get 153 yards out of a 9-iron just because it's cold, I'm not moving as well. So it's really, really taking in the environment and the climate and the conditions and everything and going from there. And the reason why I know I can hit those shots is because of the consistency of the golf ball and the consistency of what I'm creating and making the golf ball do is exactly what it does.”
Titleist GT drivers were brought to the winner’s circle at both PGA TOUR stops this weekend, with Justin Thomas and the winner of the Corales Puntacana Championship each trusting GT2 models to victory.
Winners on the DP World Tour and KPGA (Baekjun Kim) both won with a GT3 driver in the bag, making it a four-win Sunday for players gaming GT drivers.
For Thomas, the winning setup was a GT2 10.0 model (D•1 SureFit hosel, Mitsubishi Diamana Prototype shaft). He first moved into the GT2 at last year’s Genesis Scottish Open, having played both the prior generation TSR2 and TSR3 models in 2024. According to Titleist’s Senior Director of Club Promotion J.J. Van Wezenbeeck, GT2 checked all the boxes for Thomas during initial testing.
“Right away he loved the ball speed and spin consistency he was seeing from GT2,” Van Wezenbeeck said. “With his swing the GT2 really shined in giving him easier launch compared to GT3 – and he naturally gravitated to it as it still gave him tremendous ball speed, with that clean, classic look and better launch-to-spin ratio.”
The Corales Puntacana Championship played a GT2 11.0 model (A•4 SureFit hosel, Graphite Design Tour AD DI 7 X).
This week at Harbour Town, Justin Thomas turned in another stellar putting performance with his Scotty Cameron Phantom 5 tour prototype putter, gaining +5.512 strokes on the field (3rd). His confidence on the greens was on full display on the first extra hole following regulation, when he poured in a walk-off 21-foot birdie putt for the win. Four holes prior, on No. 15 in regulation, Thomas had drained a 24-footer to reach 17 under, the eventual clubhouse lead.
“Man, I putted the ball beautifully today,” said Thomas after the round. “I played really, really well... I felt like I had control of everything. It never felt like I needed to force things out there or was hoping things were happening. I just was kind of like, let's just keep playing and I'll make birdies when I can. The patience was great, but those par putts and putts I made on the front nine were huge for my momentum and keeping them.”
By week’s end, Thomas finished 6th in Putts per GIR (1.59) and 2nd in Feet of Putts Made (94’8” average per round). During Thursday’s course record-tying opening round 61, he made over 165 feet of putts.
Thomas’ putting this week was on par with his season-long performance on the greens. In 2025 so far, he ranks:
- Compared to his 2024 and 2022-23 season-end rankings, he has jumped at least 25 spots in each one of those statistical categories.
JT has won two major championships and the majority of his PGA TOUR titles playing a Scotty Cameron Phantom-style head shape, which provides him the feel of a blade with the stability of a mallet. Thomas’ current Phantom 5 model features a prototype .5 shaft bend neck, which helped JT get his hands in a more comfortable position and a good starting point for the stroke, according to Scotty Cameron tour rep Drew Page. He also loves how square the putter sits at address, which has helped improve his alignment.
Justin Thomas' iron set consists of two T-Series long irons – a T200 4-iron and T100 5-iron – and a set of custom prototype blade irons (621.JT).
“Justin is always looking for workability in his short irons, but when it comes to his long irons he wants more forgiveness and launch,” Van Wezenbeeck said. “This is where T100 and T200 fit perfectly in terms of ball speed gapping and control, and really helping with his descent angle on long iron shots.
“The higher launch lets him stretch it when he needs to stretch it, but when he has to take something off he still feels like he can hold a green.”
The 621.JT models were developed by the Titleist Golf Club R&D team in collaboration with Thomas to better understand some key design variables – such as shaping, sole design and CG placement – that ultimately may find their way into future Titleist iron development.
“Yeah, obviously I love them. I love the look of them, the feel of them, the way they go through the ground,” JT said. “And most importantly, too, they do what I feel like they should be doing when I hit them. In terms of specifics, I like very, very little offset. But when you get to a lot of the other stuff, I don’t know how they do it. I give the feedback to the team, like ‘I want to go through the ground a little bit differently here, or I want the weighting this way, or I want it to go through whatever window’ and then they design it. It’s really cool.”
Titleist has been the most played iron on the PGA TOUR for 20 of the last 21 seasons, including each of the last 11.
His winning wedges this week in Hilton Head – Vokey Design SM10 46.10F (@ 47.5), 52.12F (@ 52.5), 56.14F (@ 57) and 60.04T (@ 60.5) – helped him gain nearly six shots combined on approach shots (+3.847) and around the green (+2.151).
“I've used four wedges since college,” Thomas said. “This is something I feel like it's very important for me to have this area in my bag be very precise in terms of gapping. It's not like I try to get 15 yards here or there, but it's just more of I want to be able to feel like there's not a yardage, say under 145 that I can't hit with all my wedges and I have full faith and trust in Voke and AD to get me the bounces and everything that I need.”
When it comes to his lob wedge, Thomas goes back-and-forth between his 60.04T and WedgeWorks 60K*, depending on course conditions.
Gaming his NEW 2025 Pro V1 ball, Garrick Higgo conquered high winds and demanding conditions to claim his second career PGA TOUR title. Higgo closed with a steady level-par 72 to post the clubhouse lead at 14 under, which was good for a one-shot win.
The 25-year-old South African was in control of his ballstriking all week long, leading the field in greens in regulation (79.17%, 57/72). His solid approach play helped set up 21 birdies over 72 holes (T5).
This week in the Dominican Republic, Garrick Higgo (NEW 2025 Pro V1) was one of 103 players who teed up a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, which accounted for 78 percent of the field. That total was more than nine times the nearest competitor’s total (11, 8%).
For Higgo, Pro V1 checks all the boxes, as it gives him lower spin in the long game and the softer feel around the greens that he likes. Pro V1 also flies in his preferred window, which is a touch lower than the window he gets with Pro V1x: “It kind of brings the flight down a little bit with the launch, which is what I like, but it doesn't look low if you know what I mean,” said Higgo. “It just kind of penetrates a bit more.”
Higgo also likes playing a lower-spinning golf ball, as he finds it easier to add spin when needed, as opposed to taking spin off a shot.
“It's easier for me to put more spin on it than take off for sure,” he said. "Just a bit more speed through the ball. Sometimes I struggle taking speed off and still hitting it straight, so for me it's easier to put a bit more speed on it than to take off.”
Titleist was the most played driver (38%), iron (36%) and wedge (60%) at the Corales Puntacana Championship, with the champion gaming a setup that included his GT2 driver, TSR2 hybrid, T100 irons and Vokey Design SM10 wedges.
In just her fourth start as an LPGA member, rookie Ingrid Lindblad (Pro V1) earned her breakthrough victory, closing in 4-under 68 to post 21 under and win by one. The former WAGR No. 1 was in full control of her golf ball for the week, as she hit 61 of 72 greens in regulation (85%).
For the week in Los Angeles, 106 players (74%) teed up a Titleist golf ball compared to 13 for the nearest competitor (9%). With Lindblad’s victory, Titleist golf ball players have now won six of the first eight events on the 2025 LPGA schedule.
Ashun Wu (Pro V1) closed in 6-under 65, claiming victory on home soil. The 39-year-old, whose victory today marked his fifth career DPWT title, posted 14 under for the week at Enhance Anting GC, one shot clear of runner-up Jordan Smith (NEW 2025 Pro V1). Wu’s win also marked his second China Open title, as he won the same event a decade prior in 2015.
Wu’s ballstriking was dialed, as he gained +12.4 strokes on the field from tee-to-green (5th). More than six of those strokes (+6.2, 1st) came from his play around the greens, and he also led the field in Scrambling (13/15, 87%). Wu hit 79 percent greens in regulation (T5) and 84 percent fairways in regulation as well (T16).

For the week in Shanghai, 124 players (80%) teed up a Titleist golf ball, more than 10 times the nearest competitor with 12 (8%).
This week’s winner on the DP World Tour gamed a GT3 driver, T100 irons and Vokey Design wedges en route to claiming his fifth title on tour. Titleist was the top choice of the field in each of those categories:
- Seventy-three players gamed a Titleist driver (47%), more than double the nearest competitor with 36 (23%).
- More than half of the pitching, gap, sand and lob wedges in play were Titleist/Vokey Design (338, 56%).
Neal Shipley (Pro V1) prevailed on the fifth extra hole following regulation, making birdie to win his first career professional title. Shipley closed in 7-under 64 – the same score he opened with on Thursday – to set the clubhouse lead at 18 under for the week at Lakewood National Golf Club. Over the 72 holes of regulation play and five playoff holes, the 2023 U.S. Amateur runner-up hit 50 of 57 fairways in regulation (88%, 5th) and 57 of 77 greens in regulation (74%, T21). Nobody made more birdies all week than Shipley, who converted 30 plus one eagle.
The victory saw Shipley just 50 places on the season-long Points List, as he now sits third behind Hank Lebioda (NEW 2025 Pro V1x) and Josh Teater (Pro V1x).
The winner of the LECOM Suncoast Classic gamed a TSR3 13.5 fairway metal (Fujikura Ventus Black 8 X) en route to claiming his breakthrough KFT title.
Titleist Brand Ambassador Baekjun Kim closed out his first career KPGA title, winning the first event of the 2025 KPGA season by two shots. Kim, whose setup included his NEW 2025 Pro V1x golf ball, GT3 driver and GT2 fairways, U•505 utility, T100 irons and Vokey SM10 wedges, shot a level-par 71 in the final round, finishing at 11 under for the week.

Titleist was the overwhelming #1 ball at Lavie estbelle Golf & Resort, with 93 players (65%) teeing up a Titleist golf ball this week.
Titleist was also the most played brand in every major club category for the week as well: driver (47%), fairway (41%), hybrid (47%), iron (47%), wedge (62%) and putter (41%).
Gaming her NEW 2025 Pro V1x golf ball, the winner of the KKTcup VANELIN Ladies Open shot a final round 5-under 67, good for a two-stroke victory. She bettered her score in each of the three rounds, carding rounds of 70-68-67 for an 11-under total. With the win, she rises to No. 4 on the JLPGA Mercedes Ranking.
