CARLSBAD, Calif. (March 4, 2025) – Titleist introduces the new Vokey Design WedgeWorks 44F pitching wedge, designed for players who prefer the performance and profile of a Vokey pitching wedge but require a stronger loft to properly gap their set.

The current lowest-lofted wedge in Vokey Design’s SM10 lineup is the 46-degree F Grind, which many players game in place of their iron set pitching wedge. The SM10 46.10F pitching wedge, or even 48.10F for some, offers different performance benefits than a set pitching wedge, namely improved spin control from the rough and turf interaction from the fairway. Many prefer the profile of a Vokey pitching wedge at address as well.

While Vokey’s 46.10F pitching wedge blends seamlessly with the lofts of Titleist’s T100 irons, many players game iron sets with stronger loft progressions. The pitching wedge in Titleist’s T150 iron set is at 44 degrees, while the T200 and T350 pitching wedges are both at 43 degrees, all significantly stronger than their Vokey counterpart. Strengthening a 46.10F model by bending may achieve the right loft, but bending a wedge strong by more than one degree noticeably increases offset and decreases bounce, which affects performance and looks.

“The Vokey 46 has been such a valuable club for so many, Tour players and amateurs alike,” said Vokey Tour Representative Aaron Dill. “It offers the profile the Vokey wedge player loves, the bounce and grind that creates the right launch and spin, and consistency in carry numbers. With the lofts getting stronger in iron sets, we needed a lower-lofted head to avoid the sacrifices that came from strengthening a 46.”

The introduction of the WedgeWorks 44F pitching wedge, which also features 10 degrees of bounce like SM10’s 46.10F and 48.10F models, gives more golfers the choice to game a Vokey pitching wedge without sacrificing proper loft gapping.

“The 44F was a much-needed option for our players globally,” continued Dill, “as it helps achieve the right yardage with the correct look, feel and performance.”

The WedgeWorks 44F pitching wedge is available now in a Tour Chrome or Raw finish, in right- and left-hand models, on Vokey.com.

WEDGEWORKS 44F ON TOUR

The WedgeWorks 44F pitching wedge has already seen adoption on tour, including with Titleist Brand Ambassador Wyndham Clark, who was introduced to the model in December 2024 on a visit to the Titleist Performance Institute. Clark was working with Aaron Dill to dial in his wedge grinds and yardage gapping, and he was specifically looking to address options that would fit soft, grainy conditions.

“When a player doesn’t have enough bounce, often the vertical impact location can be higher up on the face, which results in less spin and more height.” said Dill. “Wyndham was originally in 46.10F bent strong, which decreased bounce. In softer conditions, his strike would tend be higher on the face than optimal, which is what we were trying to eliminate.”

To find more bounce, Clark tried the WedgeWorks 44F, bent slightly weak to his playing loft at 45 degrees. Bending a wedge weak increases bounce and decreases offset.

“The 44F bent slightly weak was a perfect fix,” said Dill. “It gave him more bounce and helped keep his flight down, and we stayed in a profile that fit his eye. It added confidence, as he knew he could aggressively strike the turf and trust that he would get the result he was looking for. It’s a tweak we couldn’t have made with a 46-degree head.”

A few weeks later, Clark began his 2025 PGA TOUR season at the Sentry with his new WedgeWorks 44F pitching wedge in the bag.

The WedgeWorks 44F was also recently brought to the winner’s circle on the LPGA, as the current World No. 3 in the Rolex Rankings claimed the HSBC Women's World Championship with the new pitching wedge model in the bag.

SM10 TECHNOLOGY

  • Progressive Center of Gravity Placements – Vokey Design SM10 wedges feature optimized, progressive CG to achieve precision in distance and trajectory control. In the 46-52-degree models, as well as the WedgeWorks 44F model, the CG is lower for a better transition from the iron set and more consistent distance gapping. The CG is also pushed out closer to the center of the face, helping to eliminate excessive draw movement and provide a more solid feel, based on Tour player feedback and testing. In lofts 54-62, the CG is moved up and forward, which provides lower trajectory and a squarer face at impact. Loft-optimized CG allows for more consistent, controlled flight, better feel and tighter dispersion from the top end to the bottom end of a player’s wedge setup.
  • Patented Spin Milled Process for Maximum Spin – Every SM10 groove is cut to the edge to maximize spin. Each Vokey wedge is 100% inspected for utmost quality and performance.
