Titleist Tour Report: 12.01.24

DP WORLD TOUR / PGA TOUR OF AUSTRALASIA | ISPS Handa Australian Open

Playing his Pro V1 golf ball, the champion of the ISPS Handa Australian Open was victorious in just his second career DP World Tour start. The 24-year-old American closed in 4 under at Kingston Heath on Sunday, posting 18 under to win by three over Titleist Brand Ambassador Curtis Luck. The winner’s closing round was his third consecutive 68, which followed his opening round 7-under 65 (winner’s Rounds 1, 3, 4 at Kingston Heath, Round 2 at Victoria GC). His victory in the second event of the 2024-25 DPWT season earned him a spot in the field at the 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush next summer.

Over the three rounds with measured statistics, the champion hit 81% of his greens in regulation (T4) and gained 1.99 strokes per round on the field tee-to-green (6th).

ASIAN TOUR | International Series Qatar

Titleist Brand Ambassador Peter Uihlein ran away with his second International Series title of the season, winning by five shots in Qatar with the NEW 2025 Pro V1x golf ball. Uihlein, whose all-Titleist setup also included his NEW GT3 driver and GT2 fairway, 620 MB irons, Vokey SM10 wedges and Scotty Cameron Fastback putter, climbed to No. 1 in the International Series Rankings with his victory, having also won the International Series England by seven shots in August.

This week at Doha Golf Club, Uihlein shot rounds of 68-64-71-69 to post 16 under. He made 20 birdies and an eagle over the four days, while only surrendering three bogeys over the weekend through difficult conditions.

“Yeah, it was a good day and yesterday was good as well, it was a very solid weekend,” said Uihlein. “I think I only missed a total of five greens for the weekend around here. When the wind is blowing, that’s pretty good. Felt pretty solid, felt in control.”

With Norris’ victory, Titleist golf ball players won all four of the JGTO’s major tournaments this season:

LET | Andalucia Open de España

Carlota Ciganda (Pro V1x) earned a one-shot victory in her home country, posting 18 under over four rounds at Real Guadalhorce Club de Golf. Ciganda’s week was highlighted by matching bogey-free 66’s in Rounds 2 and 3, which propelled her to the top of the leaderboard. A steady 1-under 71 on Sunday made official her eighth LET victory and second Andalucia Open España title.

CHINA TOUR | Chongqing Open

Titleist Brand Ambassador Yanhan Zhou won in back-to-back weeks on the China Tour, carding a final round 4-under 68 to win by one at 11 under. Zhou, gaming his Pro V1x golf ball and full bag of Titleist equipment, became the youngest three-time China Tour champion with his win at last week’s Straits Cup Xiamen Open before winning again seven days later.

The victory is the 16-year-old's fourth career China Tour title and his third Chongqing Open title in as many years, having won the event in 2022 and in 2023, both as an amateur.

Titleist was the overwhelming #1 ball at the Chongqing Open, with 92 players (89%) teeing up a Titleist, more than 13 times the nearest competitor with seven.
