PGA TOUR | Black Desert Championship

2009 U.S. OPEN CHAMPION SWITCHES TO GT DRIVER, RECORDS SEASON-BEST FINISHES

The 2009 U.S. Open champion has recorded his two best finishes of the season since moving to a NEW GT2 9.0 driver model (Fujikura Ventus Blue 7 X shaft) two weeks ago. He made the switch from a competitive brand at last week’s Sanderson Farms Championship before closing out the week in a tie for 3rd, having previously not earned a top-10 finish all season.

With his GT2 driver in the bag again at this week’s Black Desert Championship, he shot a final-round 62 to earn a second-consecutive T3 finish, while gaining 1.085 strokes on the field off the tee Sunday.

This week’s other T3 finisher, the 2014 Travelers Champion, also gamed a GT driver, using his NEW GT3 9.0 driver (Fujikura Ventus Black TR 6 X shaft) to record his best finish of the season. He moved into his GT3 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, his first start after GT models became available for play on the PGA TOUR.

Titleist was the most played driver in Utah with 50 players (38%), compared to 30 for the nearest competitor. Titleist drivers have been the top choice of players on the PGA TOUR for six seasons and counting.

DP WORLD TOUR | FedEx Open de France

Dan Bradbury (Pro V1x) closed with a bogey-free 66 to beat out a crowded leaderboard and earn his second career DP World Tour title. Bradbury made three straight birdies on the back nine to pull away from the chasing pack, eventually posting 16 under for a one-shot win at Le Golf National. For the week in France, the 25-year-old ranked 3rd in Strokes Gained: Approach, gaining an average of 1.78 shots on the field per round.

JGTO | Japan Open Golf Championship

Playing his Pro V1x golf ball, Shugo Imahira birdied the final hole to win by one shot. Imahira, who closed in 2-under 68, was one of just two players to finish under par for the week, posting a 4-under total over four rounds at the Tokyo Golf Club. The win is his 10th career JGTO victory, and it is his first victory at the Japan Open.
