Lauren Coughlin (Pro V1) earned her second LPGA Tour victory in three weeks, playing her final five holes in 3 under to pull away from the field for an emphatic four-shot win, the largest margin of victory this season on the LPGA. 

Over the 72 holes in Scotland, Coughlin carded rounds of 69-69-66-69 to finish the week at 15 under, which included a stretch of 47 consecutive holes of bogey-free golf. She also continued her under-par streak which now stands at 18 consecutive rounds. 

Coughlin was dialed all week at Dundonald, hitting 83 percent of fairways (47/56) and 76 percent greens in regulation (55/72). She surrendered just four bogeys all week (T1) while making 19 birdies (T1). 

Over her last four starts on the LPGA Tour, Coughlin has recorded finishes of 4th (Amundi Evian Championship), 1st (CPKC Women’s Open), T9 (Portland Classic) and 1st (ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open), while averaging over four strokes gained on the field per round (+4.29) and 83 percent GIR. 

It was one year ago at the 2023 Scottish Open when Coughlin made an important equipment change, moving from her Pro V1x golf ball to Pro V1.  

Having been a longtime Pro V1x player, Coughlin started testing both models early last season to make sure she was still dialed in. She put the lower-flying, lower-spinning Pro V1 in play for the first time in Scotland, and found she was able to better control her flight and spin, especially in windy conditions. 

Said Coughlin: “For the Scottish last year I was like, ‘okay, I'm going to give the regular Pro V a try to see if that'll help, especially into the wind.’ And I saw a huge benefit and an improved ball flight with [Pro V1]. So then I just kind of stuck with it the rest of the year and I've been using it ever since. ... 

“Controlling my distance I would say is my biggest strength, in terms of I can take a little bit off this if I need to and [the ball] can go a couple yards shorter, or if I really need to step on something, it can go a couple yards longer. Just having that confidence that it’s going to do what I want it to do is very high.” 

Coughlin reiterated the importance of trusting her ball flight in the wind in her press conference Sunday evening: 

“I really struggled in the wind up until last year when I came to this event, and it's something that I've struggled with. But I've started to kind of get figured out and a lot of it is just trying to not fight it too much and let the wind do what it needs to do and trust it as much as you can.” 

The FedEx St. Jude champion outpaced the field on the greens, gaining more than eight strokes (+8.201) with a new Scotty Cameron Craftsman tour prototype putter that he put in play for the first time this week in Memphis. He also led the field in Feet of Putts Made (113), including birdie putts on 17 (26 feet, 4 inches) and 18 (5 feet, 9 inches) to seal the victory. 

A longtime Scotty Cameron player, he gamed a Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Timeless GSS tour prototype putter two weeks ago in Paris on his way to a third-place finish. He won the 2021 Masters playing a similar style Newport 2 model. 

The 124th U.S. Amateur began with 84 percent of the field teeing up a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball – and ended with a Pro V1 player holding the trophy at Hazeltine National Golf Club. Holding to a 1-up lead, the champion found the fairway on the 36th hole of the championship match before sticking his Pro V1 to approximately 20 feet from the hole. The approach ensured a winning par and a place in history for the 124th U.S. Amateur champion, who finished off his opponent with 2-up match victory on Sunday.  

TITLEIST IS #1 BALL, TOP CHOICE TEE-TO-GREEN AT HAZELTINE  

Titleist was the overwhelming #1 ball at the U.S. Amateur, with 84 percent of the field – including the champion (Pro V1) – teeing up a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball.   

Titleist was also the most played driver (45%), fairway (38%), hybrid (32%), utility iron (51%), iron (44%), wedge (55%) and putter (29%) this week at Hazeltine, topping the counts in every major equipment category:  

• In a field of 312 players, 261 teed up and Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball (84%), more than 10 times the nearest competitor (25).  
  

• 142 players (45%) gamed a Titleist driver, more than double the nearest competitor (64/20%). Titleist was also the most played fairway (138/38%) and hybrid (28/32%).  
  

• Titleist iron sets were in the bags of 137 players (44%), over 80 more than the nearest competitor (54, 17%). More than half the utilities in play were Titleist (90, 51%).  
  

• Of all the gap, sand and lob wedges at Hazeltine, 55 percent were Vokey Design (507), over three times the nearest competitor (147/16%).  
  

• On the greens, there were 90 Scotty Cameron putters in play (29%), compared to 74 (24%) for the nearest competitor.   
  

Carding the low round of the day, Titleist Brand Ambassador David Ravetto earned his maiden DP World Tour title with a final round 8-under 64 to claim a four-shot victory. Ravetto, playing his Pro V1 golf ball and 14 Titleist clubs, began his final round with six front-nine birdies to go out in 30, before adding three more birdies on his way home. The Frenchman finished the week with a field-best 27 birdies. 

Over four rounds in Prague, Ravetto ranked first in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green, gaining 11.6 strokes on the field. More than seven of those shots came from his approach play (+7.08, 2nd). Ravetto hit 87.5 percent greens in regulation (T1) and finished 14th in SG: Putting (+3.92).

Ken Tanigawa (Pro V1x) closed in 6-under 64 to earn his third career PGA Tour Champions title while leading a 1-through-6 finish for Titleist golf ball players. Tanigawa, who shot the low round of the week on Saturday with a 9-under 61, made 18 birdies and two eagles over three rounds in Calgary. His 17-under total was good for a two-shot victory. 

Titleist Brand Ambassador Sohyun Bae emerged victorious from a three-hole, sudden-death playoff to earn her second win of the season. Bae – gaming her Pro V1 golf ball, NEW GT3 driver, GT2 fairway, T100 irons, Vokey SM10 wedges and Scotty Cameron putter – shot rounds of 71-62-68 for a 15 under total before prevailing in extra holes.

Monday qualifier A.J. Ewart (Pro V1) shot rounds of 63-66-67-67 to post 17 under and win his first career PGA Tour Americas title. Ewart’s one-shot victory projects him to rise to No. 14 in the season-long Fortinet Cup standings with three events remaining this year.

Titleist Brand Ambassador Jean Hugo birdied the last to earn his 20th career Sunshine Tour title and his 12th career Vodacom Origins of Golf title. Hugo, playing his Pro V1x golf ball, NEW GT3 driver, T100 irons, Vokey wedges and Scotty Cameron putter, shot rounds of 66-67-70 to post 13 under and win by one.

William Bruyeres (Pro V1x) earned his first career PGA Tour of Australasia title, shooting a final round 4-under 68 to win by two. Bruyeres finished in style, making birdie on three of his final five holes on his way to posting 17 under for the week. 

For the week in Papua New Guinea, 82 percent of the field played a Titleist golf ball.
