The overwhelming majority (14) of players who earned spots in next week’s PGA Championship trusted a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball in earning their way to Valhalla.  

Titleist golf clubs were also the top choice of the PPC’s top-20. 

That list includes Tracy Phillips, the PGA Director of Instruction at Cedar Ridge Country Club (Tulsa, Okla.), who earned his first PGA Championship berth at the age of 61. Phillips played a Pro V1x golf ball and a Titleist setup that included his TSR1 driver, T200 irons and Vokey wedges. 

Among the 20 qualifiers: 

— 14 trusted a Titleist golf ball (70%): 4 Pro V1, 6 Pro V1x (1 Pro V1x Yellow), 2 Pro V1x Left Dash, 2 Pro V1 Left Dot; 

— 12 played a TSR driver and had a set of Titleist irons in the bag (60%); 

— Titleist also led in fairways (11/44%), hybrids (3/43%) and utilities (12/75%); 

— There were 33 (58%) Vokey Design gap, sand and lob wedges in play; and 

— Six played a Scotty Cameron putter (T1, 33%).

Titleist Brand Ambassador Ren Yonezawa made birdie on the 72nd hole to win by one shot and claim his first victory on the JGTO. The 24-year-old – gaming a Pro V1x golf ball, TSR2 driver, blended set of T-Series irons, NEW Vokey SM10 wedges and a Scotty Cameron GOLO putter – shot four consecutive rounds in the 60’s (68-67-67-65) to finish the week at 13 under.

Rounds of 65-70 from Scott Dunlap (Pro V1) earned him his second career PGA Tour Champions victory after the final round was canceled due to weather. Dunlap hit 28 of 36 GIR (78%, T8) and was 7-for-8 in getting his Pro V1 up-and-down (88%, T6).  

Jiyoung Park (Pro V1) closed with a bogey-free 6-under 66 to post 13 under and win by two. The win marked her second victory of the season and her 9th career KLPGA title. 

Trusting her Pro V1x golf ball and full bag of Titleist equipment, the amateur champion of the JLPGA’s first major of the year closed with three birdies and an eagle over her final six holes to earn a one-shot victory. Her final round 67 saw her reach 8 under for the week.

Playing a Pro V1x golf ball and full bag of Titleist equipment, Louis Albertse shot a final round 8-under 64 to post 23 under and win by seven shots. The victory marked Albertse’s third career Sunshine Tour title.

Thomas Longbella (Pro V1) made a clutch eagle on the par-5 17th to card a 7-under 65 and win his first PGA TOUR-sanctioned title by one shot. Longbella posted 16 under for three rounds at Quito Tenis y Golf Club. (Round 4 was cancelled due to inclement weather.) 

The champions of both the Men’s (Pro V1x Left Dash) and Women’s (Pro V1x) competitions trusted a Titleist golf ball in winning the European Nations Cup. In total, 88 percent of the men and 84 percent of the women teed up a Titleist at the start of the week. Titleist was also the most played driver in both divisions as well.
